Scoutlink
Scoutlink is an international Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
Network, specially for everyone involved in Scouting. It
enables you to meet and make friends with Scouts of all
ages all over the world. It is available all day, all year
(bearing in mind time differences and zones throughout the
world).
You can join in by using the Scoutlink website's webchat in
your internet browser (just like this) or using a dedicated
IRC client. If you want full details of how to join in with
Scoutlink, please click the link to the left.
Every year in October, the Jamboree of the Internet (JOTI)
takes place. For more information, visit the JOTI website
(link to the left). We have
set up a special chat client so that you can take part in
JOTI 2008 (Jamboree of the Internet). To start, please go
to our Members Area, click on ‘JOTI Chat
Client’ in the sidebar, you can choose a nickname
of your choice or just use the pre-set one, then click
the ‘Click to join chatroom’ button which
will automatically connect you to the first available
English language chatroom on ScoutLink. You can, of
course, use this at other times of the year as ScoutLink
is open 24/7, 365 days of the year!
Please take time to read through the ScoutLink rules
before you start chatting.
For more information, including details about dedicated
chat software, please take a look at the main
ScoutLink and JOTI websites.
For those of you who would like to know where we are
located in the United Kingdom (Gt Britain) please download
this link and use it with Google Earth.
Did you know that you now actually speak to your friends on
Scoutlink? All you need is a suitable headset or microphone
for your computer and the TeamSpeak client software. For
more details and downloads for all popular computer
platforms follow this link. There is also a Mac
OS X client - see here.
If you are a Mac user, please have a look at my new
website specially for Scoutlink and
JOTI users.
